From 1st May 2006 to 30th April 2008 F2F project, funded by FP6 within the Economic and Technological Intelligence – ETI – scheme, aimed at supporting EU-MED textile, clothing and footwear SMEs participation in EU R&D programmes, by helping them to better access world wide research & innovation results, to learn from past successes and failures of SMEs involvement in FP6, to generate new R&D ideas and to be more aware of the opportunities offered for research and technological development at Eu level.

The main results achieved by F2F projects are :

- The setting up of a dedicated F2F project website displaying relevant economic and technological intelligence information for textile, clothing and footwear stakeholders, like R&D fashion sector information, news and events. On the F2F web site are available sector publications arising from FP6 projects, more than 400 expressions of interest (in the section “Project opportunities”) to stimulate project development, F2F newsletters and above all 2189 records (in the section “R&D databases”) covering fashion R&D results from all over the world, technology transfer opportunities and Eu-Med sectoral experts and organisations ;

- The publication of “Project Evaluation FMEA. An Adapted Methodology for a Better Understanding of Successful Project Approaches of SMEs in the Fashion Industry” a manual providing insight on the most common mistakes and best solutions to deal successfully with EU R&D project design and management ;

- The publication of the “BEST PRACTISE MANUAL- A guide to develop successful EU research and development projects for SMEs in the fashion industry”, helping SMEs to better access the EU RTD programs ;

- The organisation of 47 Idea Generation Events in Europe, as well as in Tunisia and Morocco, to stimulate R&D ideas development and thus the submission of new R&TD projects ;

- The elaboration of about 445 Expressions of Interest and of about 51 project outlines making up the potential for new R&TD projects ;

- The release of n° 6 issues of F2F Newsletter, a fashion dedicated periodic newsletter addressed to about 6000 readers throughout Europe ;

- An extended information campaign reaching more than 9 Million people, including fashion stakeholder, in 19 Eu-Med countries.
